This project is organised by Petrovic Njegos Foundation, French Institute of Montenegro and OSCE (Organisation for Security and Co-Operation in Europe) . It aims for regional integration and mutual acknowledgement among young people in western Balkans countries, and RYCO (Regional Young Cooperation Office) member states.

RYCO was inaugurated on the july  4th 2016 in Paris, during the Western Balkans Summit. It seeks creating friendship bounds among young nationals from its member states, in order to stimulate mutual acknowledgement, tolerance and diversity.

Project description:

-                A Call for candidatures will be launched in each participant country, in a partnership with art schools, French Institutes, Alliance Françaises, in order to select one young photographer in each country.

-                This photographer will be invited to a 11 day residency (plus round trip) within one of the neighbour participant countries and to produce a visual testimonial about this experience and about this explored country.

-                The outcome of this six residencies will be a common exhibition in Podgorica. Those young photographers will be invited to Podgorica (Montenegro) to present an exhibition of their works.

-                For the inauguration of this exhibition, a round table will also take place in Podgorica, where those six youngsters will be invited to share their experience among them and with the public next to projections of their works.

-               Beside its presentation in Podgorica, the exhibition will also be proposed to Tirana, to Belgrade and, if requested, to other countries as well. The six photographers may also be invited to a round table in other countries

Desired Impact :

The goal is to deepen these six selected young photographers perception by enabling them to discover a neighbour country.

This crossed residency project will not only enable each photographer to discover a neighbour country, by widening their view on the world through this artistic experience. This project will also reach a larger audience, promoting regional cooperation and creating networks and friendship bounds , thanks to international exhibitions and presentations.
